Bourbon Roses are a hybrid of R. damascena and R. chineses. The name commemorates their origin on Isla Bourbon in the Indian Ocean, now known as Reunion Island. The Bourbon Rose is cultivated widely in Southern India for distillation as well as use in food and decoration.
